Naval Air Station at Norfolk, Virginia

The Naval Air Station at Norfolk,

like the Charleston ship yard,

was our location state side for loading and

unloading the "Goose" and to get some R & R.

The Naval Station also had a great hospital.

I still remember a trip to this hospital and

the care given to a new, young sailor after a

hand wound with much pain from a mishap

at sea on our way back in bad weather.

Norfolk Naval Air Station

Norfolk, as does Charleston, has many

places of interest and always treated the

"Goose" shipmates with warmth and friendship.
